New Stars Production develops original film projects that explore identity, memory, and untold histories through documentary and narrative cinema. Our 2026 slate focuses on culturally significant stories with international reach, rooted in real experiences and cross-border collaboration.
Documentary | In Development – 2026
The Diaspora is an independent documentary exploring the lived experiences of the Korean diaspora across generations and borders. Through personal testimonies and family histories, the film examines identity, displacement, and belonging shaped by migration, division, and history.
Rooted in real voices, the documentary connects private memory with collective history, giving space to stories often left unheard.
Producer’s Note
The Diaspora began as a personal search for identity shaped by inherited memory and displacement. Like many within the diaspora, my family history exists between borders and political realities.
This film places lived experience at the centre, prioritising human stories over official narratives. The aim is to create an honest, dignified documentary that resonates beyond one community — with anyone who carries the weight of history they did not choose.
